Washington Post
This article was titled Opinion: and despite that I wanted to read it to get a very telling sway of one side. Thus far, I have not read many articles with 100% a right wing or left wing view but I thought that this would be the perfect time to analyze one as the criminal trials and Donald Trump’s third run for presidency commences. Immediately I see the wording “every imaginable defense” implying that Trump can go to exasperating lengths to protect himself and avoid punishment. This hints at an aspect of invincibility that I thought was very interesting and I wanted to see if the rest of the article would adhere to this language. The author still ensures readers he will still be held liable for judgement. She highlights the ways Trump could entirely avoid his criminal allegations due to the system and the time it will take to reach the trial all together. It mentions Trump’s lack of patience as well as Trump’s scolding of his council. This implies Trump coming from a childish approach especially at the implication of “scolding.” Another way the tone goes about condemning Trump is the statement of Trump unable to arrack witnesses, prosecutors and jurors. This says plenty about Trump’s character without saying much due to a man in power attacking those who oppose him in a public manor. Overall, there was very much a far left bias which if the uneducated public read this they would be able to paint a clear picture of Trump. However, despite this being labeled opinion, the factual events of what the author said were true, perhaps it simply came from a place of “opinion” because it has such a strong voice and needs to be labeled as such from the Washington Post.
