Blog #5 Washington Post

3/28/2024 https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/03/28/trump-justice-system-delays-trials-cases/ Washington Post  This article was titled Opinion: and despite that I wanted to read it to get a very telling sway of one side. Thus far, I have not read many articles with 100% a right wing or left wing view but I thought that this would be the perfect time to analyze one as the criminal trials and Donald Trump’s third run for presidency commences. Immediately I see the wording “every imaginable defense” implying that Trump can go to exasperating lengths to protect himself and avoid punishment. This hints at an aspect of invincibility that I thought was very interesting and I wanted to see if the rest of the article would adhere to this language. The author still ensures readers he will still be held liable for judgement. She highlights the ways Trump could entirely avoid his criminal allegations due to the system and the time it will take to reach the trial all together. It...

Blog #4 NBC News

3/28/2024 https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/wife-baltimore-bridge-collapse-survivor-says-workers-break-cars-bridge-rcna145465 NBC News  This article is another one that left me very surprised in regard to the recent bridge collapse in Baltimore. This article has the voice of  George Solis and Marlene Lenthang while also including insider evidence from the wife of one of the construction workers. Similar to my last blog post it this article begins from a factual standpoint examining basic ideas. The wife mentions “we don’t know if they were warned before the impact.” This can be analyzed in many different ways, there was some time before impact and the cargo ship knowingly losing control. Traffic was warned not to enter the bridge but my thoughts are skeptical. Was someone not doing their job properly and could these 9 men perhaps had been rescued? Something that is not officially stated but clearly implied was the mexican decent of these men who were repairing pothol...

Blog #3 Independent

3/28/2024 https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/baltimore-francis-scott-key-bridge-collapse-live-updates-b2519665.html Independent  This article was completely unbiased. It simply stated what happened and the reasons for why it collapsed. The tone was not very clear one way or another it did explain what happened from a factual standpoint. It begins with immediately with making it clear of the first bodies pulled from the river. It then has a recap attached describing how the crash occurred. Although many of the bias hinting at potential liability of the contractors of the bridge, were all mostly quotes. You can infer that the article leaves room for the reader to assume that the bridge may have not been fully prepared structurally. The article discussed a fuel spill as well which in my own analysis means that there are alot of things that are being hidden, not particularly by this website and article but in the situation in general. The timeline is something tha...

Blog #2 Reuters

March 6,2024 https://www.reuters.com/world/us/nikki-haley-ends-white-house-bid-clearing-path-trump-biden-rematch-2024-03-06/ Reuters.com  Critical analysis: After reading this article I didn’t get many vibes of bias. I did see in the article aggressive words to back up Nikki Haley as well as even President Biden. The choice of words seemed to be almost calling Trump out in a way saying things like “iron grip on the party” and “he criticized her.” Much of the article was even quotes of examples of Trump’s quotes and actions that incriminated himself. The framing of the article seemed to draw attention to Nikki doing or saying something and being disregarded by Trump or supported by Biden, despite them being obvious opponents. The article has a tone that clearly favored Haley. “  Only in the last months of her campaign did Haley begin to forcefully  hit back  at Trump, questioning his mental acuity, calling him a liar and saying he was too afraid to debate her.” (Slatt...
